We are pleased to announce that our Thailand subsidiary, Howa Packaging (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has completed construction of a flexible packaging factory in Saraburi Province, Thailand (Saraburi factory).

The Saraburi factory was constructed with the aim of manufacturing products in Thailand at the same level as those in Japan, and was achieved by combining all of our know-how. In addition to the introduction of production facilities with the same performance and functions as those in factories around Japan, the temperature and humidity in the production area are thoroughly controlled to reproduce the same manufacturing environment as in Japan. We guarantee reliable quality and safety of a Japanese level at the factory, by establishing a quality control and production management system equivalent to that of factories around Japan. As part of labor-saving efforts for transportation operations and to improve storage efficiency in the warehouse, the first unmanned forklift truck (AGF) has also been introduced in Thailand that is capable of handling loads in the forward and left/right directions without changing direction. An on-site PPA model for receiving power supplied from a solar rooftop installation has also been adopted, which is expected to significantly reduce CO2 emissions during production (power supply from solar power generation is scheduled to start in October 2025).

Many Japanese companies have established operations in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, and interest in and demand for products of the same quality as those in Japan are increasing. With production at the Saraburi factory, we will be responding to local needs for high quality and meeting further growth in demand expected in the future. We will also contribute to the creation of jobs for the local community and the revitalization of the local economy.
